I am passionate about agritourism’s potential to diversify and sustain farm businesses. Growing up on a sheep and beef farm in the Scottish Borders, I’ve seen firsthand the challenges farmers face. After studying Agriculture at SRUC and working as a graduate farm manager in East Lothian, I became a farm business consultant at Laurence Gould Partnership, where I assist farmers with financial planning, rural subsidies, and business strategy.

Agritourism excites me because it creates new income opportunities while developing connections between farms and the public. Frequent visits to farm shops have further deepened my interest in the sector. Although I am not directly involved in a farm business at present, I am eager to apply my experience to manage an agritourism enterprise in the future.

The Scottish Agritourism Futures program offers the perfect opportunity for me to learn how successful businesses have turned kitchen-table ideas into reality.
