Leading Rural Advisor Linda Tinson Joins Scottish Agritourism Board

Scottish Agritourism, the national sector body representing agritourism in Scotland, has appointed Linda Tinson to its Board.

Widely recognised as one of Scotland’s leading agricultural lawyers and farming advisers, Linda Tinson brings over 20 years’ experience advising rural businesses, landowners, and farming families across Scotland. A graduate of the Scottish Enterprise Rural Leadership Programme, former Vice President of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland, and now consultant at law firm Lindsays, she is recognised for her strategic expertise, practical approach, and deep understanding of the sector.

As a board member, Linda will support Scottish Agritourism as the sector body continues to champion profitable growth for Scotland’s agritourism businesses.

Linda Tinson said: “The development and growth of agritourism in Scotland has been a huge boost for, and important evolution of, Scotland’s agricultural and tourism sectors – driving the development of exciting new attractions and experiences for visitors and providing enhanced diversification opportunities and important income streams for farms, crofts and estates.

“Having been involved with Scotland’s agritourism community since its inception in a legal advisory role, I am delighted to be joining the Board. I look forward to working with colleagues across the sector and contributing to its continued growth, innovation and success.”

The appointment comes as Scotland’s agritourism sector gains international recognition, following the Global Agritourism Conference in Aberdeen hosted by Scottish Agritourism, which welcomed over 550 agritourism leaders from more than 50 countries.

Scotland’s agricultural community is increasingly embracing agritourism as a key driver of business growth and profitability to complement the farming business.

Agritourism contributed £292.9 million annually to the Scottish economy in 2025, with 2.5 million visitors to working farms, crofts, and rural estates each year, with several sector growth targets achieved five years ahead of the 2030 National Strategy targets.

Caroline Millar, Sector Lead said “Linda represents our professional members who are a key part of the membership and agritourism sector and she will be able to bring their perspective and views to the board. Linda has been working to support the agritourism movement in Scotland for many years before Scottish Agritourism formed in 2020. She cares deeply about the organisation and brings her extensive network and knowledge to our board. We very much look forward to working with Linda.”

Linda’s appointment follows the tenure completion of Riddell Graham and Fiona Campbell MBE, who complete their four-year board appointments last month.
