Call for New Destination Leaders
With elections to the new board, and some current Destination Leaders standing down after two years’ service, Scottish Agritourism is now on the look-out for members keen to take up the role of Destination Leader for their region.
Our Destination Leaders work to ensure that agritourism is developed in each area of rural Scotland and that the sector has a positive relationship with our urban neighbours as we work together to welcome everyone to the countryside. Destination Leaders build and support networks at a regional level, working closely with other agencies to identify opportunities for agritourism growth and the Go Rural brand.
Destination Leaders serve for two years. Our current leaders will have served their time by June 2022. However, to allow us to retain some experienced leaders we are grateful that the following leaders will stay on and serve for one more year until June 2023. Fiona Scott, Highlands; Alison Younger, Stirlingshire; Jo McNicol, Lothians; Nikki Storrar, Fife; Ailsa Currie, Ayrshire and Arran; Helen Smith, Morayshire.
We are also very grateful to the following leaders who have served their regions and will stand down in June 2022. Murray McConchie, Dumfries and Galloway; Jenny Cowan, Lothians; Sascha Grierson, Perthshire; Claire Fleming, Angus; Selina Cairns, Lanarkshire; Carole Short, Aberdeenshire.
