Christine is a farmer’s wife and one of three daughters running Marshall’s Farm Shop, Aberdeenshire, alongside her parents.
On leaving school, Christine studied Management at Robert Gordon University, followed by a graduate programme within the Oil & Gas industry and a move into the distillation sector. She now lives with her husband, Ally, a tenant farmer on the Glenlivet Estate, and together they have two young children, ages 3 and 1.
Marshall Farms is a mixed farming enterprise including livestock (Cattle, sheep, laying hens and pigs), tatties, veg and arable (barley and wheat).
In November 2021, the Marshalls opened a brand-new, state-of-the-art farm shop, in-house butchery and restaurant which now retails their own beef, pork and lamb through the butchery counter and tatties, eggs and vegetables direct from the farm. Since then, they’ve refurbished an old retail space into a gift shop, launched a drive-thru, opened a children’s play park, followed by their first dog ‘run free’ fields, with a second location to follow, as well as a dog grooming facility, and further future diversification plans in the pipeline.
In her limited spare time, Christine enjoys being a mummy but is also a musician, playing the piano and fiddle (violin) throughout her childhood – now performing up and down the country with the Scottish Fiddle Orchestra.
