Claire Fleming is from Peel farm, approximately 1000ac and her family tenants about the same again, in the foot of the Angus glens. Claire’s dad and brother work full time on the farm and she works full time in the diversified business. The farm runs approximately 200 beef breeding cows and stores are sold either privately or through Forfar market. The farm also has 40 ewes and grows 100 ac each of barley and oats for milling. Claire’s mum started the diversification about 35 years ago with a two-table tearoom in the sunporch. The coffee shop and the conservatory has since been added along with the courtyard gift shop and the barn. The steading has been converted into 2 self catering units, one sleeps 8 and one sleeps 4, and there are 8 luxury glamping pods.
