Genevieve Cookman
I’m currently a Project Manager at Horizons, a destination management company in Edinburgh, where I create unique travel experiences across Scotland. Growing up in Glasgow, I didn’t have direct exposure to farming, but frequent trips to the countryside sparked my love for Scotland’s rural landscapes. As a vegan and someone passionate about sustainable living, I’ve developed a strong interest in how farming practices can be both sustainable and aligned with ethical food production.
Agritourism interests me as a way to connect people with the origins of their food and promote eco-friendly farming. I believe that through immersive rural experiences, we can educate visitors on sustainable farming methods while supporting local communities. At the Scottish Agritourism conference, I’m eager to explore how Horizons can integrate these values into our travel offerings, promoting both sustainability and Scotland’s rich agricultural heritage.
