For me, this programme is opportunity to develop skills and improve my knowledge of sustainable agriculture and it would give me a chance to learn from experienced professionals within the same industry.
I am passionate about farming and I’ve been immersed in it since I was young. I hope to build a future that can support our rural communities and bring more life to crofting within the Western Isles. This programme would allow me to grow professionally, gain confidence, improve my leadership abilities whilst making connections with other young people from the Islands and beyond, who have the same ambitions and goals for the future of farming.
My aspirations for crofting is to build a sustainable future that can support the local community and also the land. I want to contribute towards preserving rural life and the traditional farming methods for future generations to learn from. Crofting to me represents resilience and hard work. By attending the Global Agritourism Conference, I hope to explore new opportunities within agriculture and eventually manage a successful crofting business.
I have a strong interest in agriculture, rural development, and future opportunities for island communities, particularly how agriculture and tourism can work together to create opportunities for future generations.
