Lindsay Robertson

Lindsay is a 6th generation farmer from Speyside who grew up on a mixed arable and beef farm. She relocated across to the Outer Hebrides full time in 2020 and now works alongside her partner DJ Cameron, running the family crofts on South Uist. This year (2022) they have launched an ambitious croft diversification project on their crofts at Loch Skipport on the eastern shores of the Island. Their business, Long Island Retreats and Larder, focusses on delivering authentic island experiences, from pony experiences with their herd of Shetland ponies, through to shearing demonstrations and machair tours. The duo is also further developing their larder product range with beef, lamb and pork available in 2022 and field to fork croft experiences telling the story of their amazing island produce. In early 2023 they will launch their first croft accommodation, meaning a complete on croft experience will be available to visitors.
Lindsay’s background is marketing and business development and having previously worked with VisitScotland she is passionate about developing the Scottish Agritourism offering across the Highlands and Islands, believing we all have an amazing story to tell and something extraordinary to offer visitors to the region.
