Patricia and husband, Neil, farm at Balmangan Farm, 330 acres located between the village of Borgue and town of Kirkcudbright in Southwest Scotland. They rear Belted Galloway’s, Highland Cattle and Tamworth pigs, and farm on a regenerative farming system.
The Pickens have been running the business in partnership since 1996 and began their agritourism journey in 2007, opening a caravan and camping site at the farm, Solway View Holidays. They have also been actively involved with local and regional tourism projects. Future agritourism ambitions involve further developing the farm tourism activities, accommodations, organic certification and direct selling of farm produce.
