New Board Members Join First Meeting in Perth
Scottish Agritourism is delighted to announce the appointment of four new members to its skills-based Board of Directors.
Kay Wilson of Lennox of Lomond, Argyll and Robert Wilson of Wilson’s Farm and Kitchen in the Scottish Borders, have both stood down from the Scottish Agritourism Board, following a two-year term representing agritourism members. They will be replaced by fellow Scottish Agritourism members Lindsay Robertson of Long Island Retreats & Larder, Uist and Jo McNicol, of Castleton Farm, North Berwick. Jo is former Scottish Agritourism Destination Leader for the Lothians while Lindsay currently serves as one of two Destination Leaders for the Highlands and Islands area. Current/Former Destination Leaders are in position on the Board to lead the current Destination Leader group, and to represent their voice and the voice of membership on the Board.
Also joining the Board are Caroline Harridence and Katie Waugh. Caroline Harridence is Founder of Counting Clouds, a Scottish based business offering flexible finance support to SMEs. Caroline is a trained Chartered Accountant with over 25 years of experience working with businesses of varying sizes and complexity and many industry sectors, including Scottish estates, rural, travel and tourism, hospitality, technology and consultancy. Caroline will bring accountancy expertise to the Board as retired Chartered Accountant, Karen Wilson, who has served as accountancy expert and treasurer since March 2022, also stands down.
Katie Waugh is owner of Skaill House on the Breckness Estate, Orkney (a Scottish Agritourism Associate Member) and also supports family business Ardgay Game with business development. Katie has recently left the role of Malt Brand Home Manager at Diageo to focus on Ardgay Game full time and will bring marketing expertise to the Board.
The new Board Members join Chairman Riddell Graham, Scottish Agritourism Sector Lead Caroline Millar and Fiona Campbell, Chief Executive of the Association of Scotland’s Self Caterers (membership body expert).
Established as a skills-based board in April 2022, the Scottish Agritourism Board has played a key role in developing the organisation since it began operating as a stand-alone entity from 1st April 2022. Each director brings specific knowledge to the table working alongside the Sector Lead, Destination Leaders, wider sector and team, to ensure that agritourism is developed in each area of rural Scotland and that Scottish Agritourism plays a key role in delivering Scotland’s national agritourism strategy.
Riddell Graham started today’s meeting of the new board, which took place at the Perth offices of Scottish Agritourism Trade Member, Azets, by thanking Kay, Robert and Karen for their time and input to Board activity over the past two years and warmly welcomed Katie, Lindsay, Jo and Caroline to their new appointments.
