Showcasing Innovation at 3 Little Huts
Our final showcasing innovation event for the month took place on Wednesday evening at Mossyard Farm, Gatehouse of Fleet, Dumfries, showcasing the farm stay accommodation at 3 Little Huts, the agritourism business of Amy and Murray McConchie.
The farm is beautifully situated overlooking Fleet Bay with stunning views. Splitting into two groups, Amy and Murray showed the 30 plus attendees around the farm and the livestock and then, their hand crafted, bespoke, luxury shepherd huts. The couple also have four self-catering cottages, all beautifully decorated and individually dressed with cosy living spaces and spectacular views of fields and the sea.
There was home reared pork and a selection of beautiful salads for eating and the crowd, which included a few new Scottish Agritourism members and some non-members too, had some great conversations about many different aspects of self-catering accommodation on a farm including booking systems, working out pricing, charging for pets, night time lighting and the all important – hot tub or no hot tub? Everyone went away having learned something, made new contacts and having a firm belief that Mossyard Farm is blessed with some of the most beautiful views in the country!
